Project Overview
CISCO (NDS) required a device capable of authorizing access using up to four different smart cards simultaneously to enhance system security. The device needed to seamlessly manage multiple inputs while maintaining an intuitive user interface.
Implementation Strategy
Michmas Electronics provided a full turnkey solution, starting with the design and layout of the circuit boards to ensure compatibility with multiple smart card inputs. The team sourced and acquired high-quality components before assembling the electronic circuits. The components were then approved by the team and tested for project fit.
- To enhance usability, Michmas developed a robust mechanical enclosure and user interface that simplified interactions. The team also programmed the device’s software to manage the hardware-smart card integration, ensuring secure and seamless operations.
Ensuring Each unit underwent rigorous electrical testing to validate functionality and reliability.
Outcome
Hundreds of 4Smart Card Switcher units were produced annually, providing CISCO (NDS) with a secure and reliable access control solution. This project demonstrated Michmas Electronics’ ability to deliver sophisticated hardware and software integration for high-security applications.
